Watersports

 

The shallow waters of the Mar Menor (La Manga’s inland sea) reach temperatures akin to a warm bath during summer months and are perfect for learning to sail or windsurf.

 

The Mar Menor lagoon stretches 18 km long by 10 km wide which is perfect for Wind Surfing, Sailing and other water activities. The water stays warms all year round, and the predictable winds provide comfertible conditions for the less experienced child or adult.

 

Kite-surfing is on the increase and with winds across the non-tidal inland lake, this area of the coastline is built just for this sport. The fly-surf factory offers courses and also allows you to hire equipment to get a ‘taster’ of this exciting sport.

 

Water-skiing and Kayaking are also widely available at the Sailing schools and around the beaches of the Mar Menor with snorkelling and scuba diving an less strenuous alternative. See the Scuba Diving section for more details.
